New coop!

Hello all! New to the group. I have been looking around on here and couldn't find what I was looking for. So here is my question, Can you have a roost over the pop door? My Idea is to do a 2x4 over a catch tray that runs the width of the coop. Coop size 6'x8'x6' tall. We have 8 ISA browns. They are chicks right now.

I would think that as long as the chickens can still easily access the door, having the roost above it wouldn't be a problem.
