New coop...

Heres the old one... It was built in a day, just to house the birds... Not good enough for winter..:

And the new one. So far, I have less than $100.00 in materials. I found a deal on craigslist on some scrap lumber:

It is based from a kit home depot sells,... but I did not have $2500.00 to buy theirs... so I copied it. I still have a long way to go on it,... but not bad for 2 days work. Best of all, its built with 90% recycled materials.

They were made with 1x4's, 2x4's, and plywood. I had to tear them apart to move them, but it was well worth the time. Inside dimensions on the main coop are 8' wide, and 6' deep. The porch is another 3', so it sits on a pad that is 9'x8'. It is tall enough for me to stand up in. The peak of the roof is about 8.5' up. I am going to build a "loft" so to speak for the roost, with the nestboxes under it.
