Hi all. I am new to poultry and have have been raising a small flock of ducks and 1 goose since early July. I am very much enjoying the experience and have benefited greatly from the collective knowledge here. So a big thank you to everyone here.

(1) Are you new to chickens DUCKS/ when did you first get chickens DUCKS?
Yup, I am new to this world and loving it so far. I got my first 6 ducklings on July 9th. I collected a few more over the following week.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I now have 12 ducks and 1 goose.
(3) What breeds do you have?
I have 2 Khaki Campbells, 2 mixed Khaki Campbell/Silver Appleyards (I think there may be/is something else mixed in as well), 2 Silver Appleyards, 2 muscovy's, 4 black Swede's and 1 Embden Goose. Gretta the goose is the sweetest of all the birds. She is super cuddly and sweet.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
So far my favorite aspect is watching these clowns :) they are a blast to watch and interact with.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Other hobbies I endevor in include hiking, reading, gardening, target shooting, and improving my property.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
My wife and I have 2 dogs and now 12 ducks and 1 goose. I am a clinical scientist by training and experience. After 23 years in acute care diagnostic laboratories I transitioned to Health IT 5 years ago.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D

I found out about BYC from Google searches while doing research ahead of getting the ducks. I decided to join so I could ask questions when I have them and can't get the answers from Google.

Here are the Silver Appleyards and one of the mixed babies.
