We just got three baby ducks from tractor supply we have a fairly large lake in the backyard and we don’t know what to do when they grow up if we’re supposed to just let them roam in the backyard with the chickens but if we do that will they find the lake and fly away? Their still babies but we want to be prepared for what may happen when they grow any tips for ducks living on a lake would be great.

What kind of ducks? Some domestic ducks can fly and some cannot, if you don't know what type they are you can post pictures and people will help you try and figure it out. Be careful if the lake is big it might have snapping turtles. I think it really depends on the individual duck, but most of the time if you keep feeding them they will stick around. If you want to keep them safe they need a good predator proof coop for night time, but I often see people with ponds and lakes having troubles getting the ducks off the water at night time. I'm not sure if you bought them sexed or not, but if not you may have to add or remove some depending on the male to female ratio. Ideally you want at least 3 hens per drake.
