Hi!
My name is Emily and my husband Tyler and I are newly married and decided to jump head first into raising... ducks. (Much to the dismay of my parents who prefer less feathery grandchildren
)
We have 4 female ducks, and ended up with 3 drakes also, who we probably won’t keep at this time, due to our zoning laws on number of ducks on our property size.
We have 2 Pekins, 1 Cayuga and 1 runner mutt.
We built a mobile tractor in the big fenced off garden area in our back yard, and our ducks mostly free range it. We’ve been using BYC since we started raising our first bunch of ducklings just after Easter and it’s been so helpful.
We hope to one day have a full on homestead, but for now, we live with my grandma and will be sharing eggs with her. I’m a flight attendant and my husband is applying to med school, so we are often on the go, but our ducks have been loved and cared for by family members while we’re away. So far we’re loving the duck life
