Hi All!
We are new, proud... and recently startled... new parents of four chickens, just over three months old.
A Giant Blue Cochin, a Cuckoo Maran, a Naked Neck (our favorite) and... the startler... an Americauna ROOSTER!
Yes... an unmistakeable cock-a-doodle-doo awakened us the other morning at about 5:00a.m.
We live in Oakland, and aren't allowed to have that noisy dude waking up neighbors. And frankly, my two year old wakes me up enough at night that I'd prefer not to add a 5:00a.m. additional alarm clock.
We've got two dogs, two cats, and were really looking forward to blue eggs... but alas, it is not to be. I tried to gift my boy to a friend with a farm, but he declined, and directed me to Backyardchickens.

I'll be hunting on this site for a happy home for my beautiful Americauna boy... holler if you want him!!
