Hi my name is Danny, I am married to the best woman ever and have one beautiful baby girl. I'm new to BYC I joined to learn all I could about raising quail. Hopefully I'll be getting some eggs before summer. I plan to build my own incubator and pens. After reading many of Monarc23's posts I would like to raise A&Ms and Perhaps try to produce some pretty tuxs. MissPrissy (I hope that's right) has some great threads about making incubators that I will follow pretty closely as well. Anyway I'll try to figure out how to load images I have some plans for cages drawn up, but I'm struggling a bit with technicalities. I'd love to hear from anyone living close by ( between Dallas and OKCity ) and of coarse advice is welcome from everyone.

OK here's those sketches I was talking about. These two pics are of the same design one sorta 3d the other is a front view.

I live in town and thought it would be great if I could get a hobby in the garage so I designed these cages after looking at tons of other posts and getting ideas from storebought cages. Each level will be 14" wide 1foot tall and 8feet long. Each level will be able to be split into 3 seperate sections to keep males away from one another, or opened to give a group of birds more space by removing center deviders.

My concern is headspace... I've read both sides of the argument short pen to keep them from gaining momentum when they "pop" or tall pens to allow them to... Because of my space restrictions I'm hoping these short long pens will work out.
