Got my new Feather Butts today. 4 EE's, 3 Silverlaced Wyndottes, 3 Buttercups, 2 Delewares and 6 Assorted Bantams. I was good today at TSC!! I only got the 6! The others came from a combined order with someone from McMurray

Between the light being too close and the shed door being closed and being a rather warm day, when I was able to go to them later this afternoon (hubby watered them this am but he doesn't know much about chicks) They were at the far end away from the light panting. Poor little buggers. I kept the shed door open for awhile and raised the light. Had hubby check on them a little while ago and he said they were spread out nicely. Some directly under the light others running around.

My chickies are getting bigger! I've moved them out to their next pen and their temp home. The doghouse has low roosts built in it. They learn how to roost in here before moving into the bigger coop.

Yes very quiclky! The bantams are 5 weeks and the others are 6weeks.

I'm not as friendly with my chicks as most folks on here are. I love them and their beautiful colors, but beings I free-range them a lot; I don't want them to be too used to people or cats & dogs. I want them to have a bit of the skitishness in them so they will move away from something they aren't sure of. I've had an 8lb Blacksexie taken down by a feral cat.

These ones will at first be allowed to mix with the big girls after they are much bigger and then allowed out into the world.

I'm really loving the Sebrights! They will be moved into a "Playhouse" type coop/pen when they get bigger. I don't want them exposed to my big roo
