Anyone have any thoughts on which you would choose...Dumor layer crumbles, Nutrena Naturewise layer crumbles, or Purina Layena crumbles? I was using feed from Rural King..Country Road layer crumbles. Chickens loved it and have done very well on it. Apparently they have changed the formula..color and texture are very different and chickens don't like near as much! Have a call in to manufacturer, waiting on a call back. Have used purina before when they were babies/growing up. Was curious about anyone's experience with these feeds/opinions etc as I look for a new feed. Bummed they changed it..everything else more expensive and not always in stock at the store. Thank you!

If it were me I would use the purina layena crumbles. We switched to them because we had bad egg quality on Country Companion. Eggs got much better.

Chickens hate food changes, so any change goes better if you mix them and gradually add more of the new stuff.
I feed Purina Flock Raiser, because it's the best for my flock here. Purina's Layena is a good layer diet, better than Dumor, IMO.
What's important is the freshness of what ever you buy. Always check the mill date on each bag, and plan to be able to use it up within two months of the mill date; three months at most, and that's pushing it.
Laying hens should have oyster shell available separately regardless.

Thank you! I was leaning towards that one but had not heard much about.

Thank you! Yep, I will gradually mix it in. They are NOT happy with the new formula...they loved it before! Irritating when they change a good thing. Thank you for the date tip. Yep, I have oyster shell for them also. They usually make more of mess with it than they eat...or so it appears some days lol.
