My wife and I have been gardening in our yard for a few years and knew chickens were the next step, finally took the plunge this year. Got some two day old chicks from our local feed store, a Buff Orpington, a Black Australorp, and an Ameraucana. They are about a week and a half old now and seem to be doing great. The BO and Amer are very active, curious, big eaters, love flapping their wings and running around. The BA is smaller, more vocal, loves being held and cuddled, and not nearly the appetite. She's still eating, drinking, and pooping, but not nearly as much as the other two.

Anyway, we have a red "The Smart Coop" coming our way later this month, looking forward to enjoying our new pets for years to come.
