I've been using this site for information for a while and decided it would even more useful if I joined

Chickens are a life necessity for me. I've bought several batches of chicks from IDEAL Poultry with excellent results. Unfortunately there have been so many things happen to my poor chickens

Loose dogs mostly but since I have my own dogs that's not a problem now. More about this later though.

I am interested in hatching eggs and getting into different breeds now than when I started. Mostly am interested in dual purpose breeds to feed the family.

I live out of town on 5 acres and have lots of room. My girls run loose all day and get penned up at night. And the eggs are delicious!!!

It's nice to be here for real for a change.
