Hi everyone, I’m Will but my daughter thought Featherballs should be our name here. I just made things easier and used the template:
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am not new to chickens as I was raised on a farm, my wife and daughter are now learning and decided to start raising chickens by breed.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
10
(3) What breeds do you have?
At the moment we have a pair of black silkies, a pair of buff silkies, 1 Americana hen, 1 unknown pair, 1 leghorn rooster, 1 R.Red rooster, 1 barred rock rooster.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Uhh, they’re chickens?!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Homesteading, camping, prospecting, reading, and sometimes forums.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We have 10 cats, 3 sheep 2 on the way soon, 1 dog (down from 13
)
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I was searching forums for information on different styles of chicken coops so we could decide on what would fit our goals the most. The large walk-in coop we have was great for my all hen mixed flock but now we want to organize them by breed as well as keep the “breeders” separate from the regular layers.
