Hello:
I'm from Central Kentucky and am new to the BYC forums, but have been messing with birds for many years, along with other critters.
Proud father of 3 and live with my wife and kids on a very small yard farm about 30 minutes from Frankfort and Louisville.
We have between 10 and 20 chickens of various breeds, 2 dogs (lab and a basset), 2 rabbits, and I lost count on how many coturnix quail, and two "barn" cats.
I have a lot of scientific experience in chemistry, physics, math and material science/engineering. As well, I have some extensive "shade-tree" knowledge of bird, dog, cat and rabbit care. Nevertheless, I always have questions.
Should someone read this -- I'm looking for some high-quality SQ (show-quality) bantam barred rock eggs, chicks, or even some adults...depending on what you have available. I have a really nice SQ bantam BR rooster who is quite fertile, but alas, his mate died a couple years ago. My oldest son will be old enough for next years youth shows and is really good at handling this rooster...but we'd also like to get some more girls for him.
Anyway, I guess that's all for now.
Best regards!
