Hi! I am a new member from Maine! I just joined so I can learn as much as I can before I start raising poultry in spring/summer. I want to start an egg businesslocally. Im interested in ducks, chickens, geese and maybe turkeys too.

:welcome

If you'd like to chat with other members in Maine, you can find them on your state thread:Maine. That can be helpful deciding on breeds, how your weather needs can be addressed, etc.

Make yourself at home here, thanks for joining us!

Hey @Sticky and :welcome!

As NFC said it is a GREAT idea for you to check out your state thread from Maine. That way you can communicate with chicken owners that live near you, and work on your business a little :celebrate

Other than that, I hope you enjoy your time here on BYC. We are always looking for active members no matter how long you've been with us!

With that being said have a safe and happy holiday season!:thumbsup

Hello and welcome to BYC. Good look with your plans

Here’s a link to the Articles section - https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/ There you’ll find lots of information on almost every aspect of keeping chickens - from coop building ideas, to incubating eggs.

There’s a link on the page above to the Learning Centre - it’s a great resource. If you have a specific topic in mind, just type it in the search box - there's a wealth of information on past and present threads.

Each week, various topics are discussed, which can also be a great resource - https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/topic-of-the-week-thread-archive
