Hello! My name is Dani and I'm a high school student from Michigan. I've been an animal lover since birth whether there are hooves, paws or claws involved! My latest animal venture involves webbed feet. I don't currently have ducklings, but I should be getting some within the next few weeks from a local farm. My backyard includes a creek that will be perfect for the fluff balls once they get old enough. A first I was set on hatching my own eggs but the expense of an incubator was too much on top of all the other things involved with duckling care. I plan on starting with a few Pekins and maybe eventually branching out to a few other duck breeds.
Future ducks aside, I have a 7 year old female Pug by the name of Dixie as well as two axolotls (don't be afraid to google what that is!) named Sputnik and Houdini. I love horses and learned to ride at a young age but unfortunately it's not possible for me to own one at this time as I live in a subdivision. Ducks are the closest to a farm animal I'm allowed! I hope to own property someday where I can have a large animal family. I hope to attend Michigan State to begin studying for a degree in zoology within the next few years. All in all, the future looks bright! I'm a dedicated student athlete on my school's swim and water polo teams. This takes up quite a bit of my time, but I also enjoy hiking, fishing, hunting, snowboarding and hanging out at the beach. Books are a great love of mine and I'm always looking for new ones to read.
Pretty sure that's me in a nutshell! I love to chat, and I'm hoping there are lots of knowledgable people here to help me once my ducklings come. Despite my research, I'm sure there will be lots of questions popping up in the months to come!
