Hello,
I have been registered since 10/2010, but just recently started searching through the site. So much info and suggestions. I have basically had chickens on our farm for years. I have not done much more than food/water/clean-up/collect eggs when they lay. My birds are from the local hardware, some kind of "Easter egg" chicken. I recently aquired a couple of silkies and welsummer(?sp) hens and one rooster (who was on the roof of the coop today). I also have a silki roo and a seabright(?sp) roo. Really I am sure of the silkis only, the other ones I am not familiar enough with the other breeds to say "I know".
I am in Michigan.
I would like to start hatching my own flock instead of purchasing chicks every couple years.
Stacey
