Hey BYC,

My name is James. I'v been hanging out here for a couple weeks now. I'm 28 years old, I have a wife two kids boy 8, girl 5 years old, and one American Bulldog. I don't have any chickens yet but hopefully in a couple weeks. When the rain stops I'm starting on a covered run and coop 10 x 24' run/10 x 8 coop. I want to have it all done when I got my chicks. It's hard to pick a breed I want. I'm thinking about Sussex, RIR, Brahma, Buckeye, Delaware, or either Welsummers. I don't want hatchery. I want purebred breeder stock 4-6 week olds 8-10 pellets and 1 cockerel.

Sounds like you have everything all planned out. You are so smart to have the coop built before getting your chicks. That way you are not under so much pressure and will be able to enjoy he chicks! Best of luck!
