(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I started my flock about 4 years ago.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I currently have 10 chickens.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Plymouth Rock, Leghorn, Cochin & Dominique...basically a mixed flock from the four breeds mentioned.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
It's a fun & entertaining hobby! We also love "farm fresh" eggs, watching brooding hens hatch out baby chicks and getting to share the whole experience with our 2 year old grandson.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Gardening, photography, kayaking & running 5K's.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I currently work PRN as an Occupational Therapy Assistant at skilled nursing facilities in the area...my passion is definitely geriatrics!
My husband & I share a blended family~I have one adult son & one son who the Lord called home at the age of 17, a step-son and a step-daughter, son-in-law & one grandson...so far!
We also have a 7 month old kitten who has become great friends with his feathered family! 
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I discovered BYC about 4 years ago while searching for information pertaining to first time "chicken farmers" including; "the basics" of raising chickens, "best" chicken breeds, DIY chicken coops and maintaining a healthy flock.
I finally decided to join because I still have so much to learn and BYC never disappoints!
