Stepping up to the mic. Yes, I am a newbie! I feel like I'm as green as it gets, LOL. I've just been married to my wonderful husband a year this summer. I have one 9 yr old step-son. We just bought a house the summer, and hubby is big on the outdoors, and all things partaining to animals. We have a great piece of land, and some existing sheds. Thus hubby got the great idea to convert one to a hen house. It's a hobby of his I guess. He had and raised ducks a few years back before I came into the picture. So he has one up on me.

So here begins our chicken adventure!!!! We started with 2 roos and 2 hens given to us by a neighbour who has a hen house of his own. We ended up having to let go of one roo, cause hubby thought one was best. Then last week we adopted 11 more from another town. 5 poulets, 2 are black and 3 are brown; 4 adult, 2 brown and 2 white; and 2 gorgeous little chicks!!

And we've got one little guy I call Pippy, still in shell, in an incubator downstairs, but that's a whole other story!

The chickens are loving their home, they've all become aquianted nicely. And I am in love with them. If I'm at home for the day you can find me going back and forth the hen house often.

I'm finding my way around here lately, because this is really a learning adventure, and I"m getting a little addicted.
