Hello everyone! I'm so glad I found a sight that allows other "chicken parents" to communicate and a way for me to bounce questions off of more experienced flockers. I have been raising chickens for about 8 months now and truly love it! Up until now we have been learning as we go and its been interesting to say the least.Thankfully our first hen Big Mama Cass has been a loving and patient hen and she is also a great conversationalist! She loves to follow us around the yard and talks constantly, proving a delight to my mother n law next door whom is mostly blind and loves the fact that this big old hen will eat from her hand and follow her around the yard talking incessantly. We have decided to slowly expand our flock choosing the silkie bantams as our newest members after doing a LOT of research and being much better prepared this time around. They are proving a delight and each have their own unique personality. I joined after trying to find the reason why one of my little silkies is having a problem with its eye. I have posted this question on the illness forum under 3 week old silkie. I'm greatful for everyone and look foward to getting to know everyone! Thanks for being here!
