Hello everyone I am Derek and I will be a new duck owner soon.. I have purchased a new brinsea octagon 20 incubator which as been running a week and on monday will be getting 12 ancona duck eggs shipped to me.. hopefully i can get a good hatch rate and be a proud owner of a awesome ancona flock!!!

Hi redsoxs!! Thanks for the warm welcome.. I've been living on those two forum sections for months.. Figured I might as well join up and start meeting and talking to people!! Being from Essex county it's gonna be a lil tough.. I don't know anyone around here with poultry and its not easy to find a close place to purchase feed and supplies!! Looks like long drives are in my future!! Lol

thank you all for the warm welcome.. excited to get into the duck raising hobby if you want to call it a hobby lol.. building a nice big shed for a duck house i think is what my plans are! i will have about 12 eggs hope i could get a good rate.. so what is everyones idea of the best starter flock in terms of how many to keep and what ratio males to females?
