We do have a great flock and cannot wait to get more next week. They are all great layers and calm temperaments! I have a 2 1/2 year old little girl who absolutely loves them and enjoys taking care of them. Very rewarding to see her interact with them!

You have some great layers. Golden Buff is one of a number of labels under which some hatcheries market their Red Sex Links, which are produced by crossing a red gene rooster with a silver gene hen. Not only can the offspring be sexed by color at hatching, but they are egg laying machines, outlaying either parent breed. It's one of the interesting quirks of hybridization. You should get loads of eggs from those girls. Black Australorps are my favorite standard breed. I've raised them for years, and they are extremely hardy, calm and gentle (my children and granddaughter made lap pets of them), and excellent layers of large, brown eggs. Good luck with your flock.
