Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I have posted a couple of times on here so far and I think this a really great site!!! I really enjoy having chickens and spend a lot of time researching and buying probably way too much stuff for them! I have raised chickens all of my life on a small farm in Northeast Ohio. I just moved into my new "cabin in the woods" about 4 months ago and have been working on building a flock of chickens for the past 9 weeks. It has been a very eye opening experience getting into things while checking out this site for loads of information recently!! I sincerely enjoy the good nature of all the posting I see here. I really have to say, that you just don't see the kind of respect that seems to be overwhelming here! Thank you for providing such a great site and to all of the knowledgeable people who offer great information regularly! I hope that I will be able to offer good knowledge to the site and hopefully make some friends in my "neck of the woods". Because of this site, I have changed my decisions on breeds and I would like to make some additions to my flock very soon! I currently have 7 OEG, 3 mixed OEG, 1 buff cochin, and 1 frizzle cochin all adults whom roost in a large white pine behind my cabin, they will not go in the coop!! I have surrounded the base in electric fence to keep terrestrial predators at bay! In the coop I have 18 production reds, 4 Rhode Island reds, 5 cornish rocks, 1 barred rock, 4 mille fluer, 5 golden seabrights, 2 OEG, and 1 EE? maybe. All in the coop are 7-8 weeks old, some from Tractor Supply. The coop, I just built, is 16'Lx8'Wx8.5'H and will have an accompanying run of over 1500'sq. I plan on dividing up all the space to accommodate a few breeds separately. Okay, so yes, I am really addicted....badly! This site officially makes raising chickens more interesting! Anyone from SE Ohio in the forum? Thanks again!

Welcome Brownegger. I'm a newbie from Florida. From what I've seen of this sight so far, it's OK to be a little chicken nuts. I think we'll be right at home here.
