Hello!
I've had 6 easter egger hens for 2 years now. A month ago I got 6 salmon faverolles chicks which I will be introducing to the flock as soon as they are old enough. These chickens are primarily pets who have the handy bonus of supplying family and friends with eggs, so I went with the friendliest breeds available locally. I live in a wooded area in TN with just over 10 acres, but keep the chickens in a single fenced acre because there are too many predators here. I'm hoping to learn more about their care and get ideas for improving their coop, run, and garden. I've been inspired by the creative posts so far, especially the ones with natural branches and the walk-in coops (which seem a lot more convenient than the raised one I built!).

I found BYC a long time ago on a web search, long before I got chickens, and have occasionally come here to browse.

Here are some pics of my chickens. The easter eggers are dustbathing in one big clump like they always do (I have no idea if other chickens spread out to do this or mine are just weird) and the salmon faverolles still in their brooder.
