Hi - I've looked on here several times getting ready for the "big day"! - which should be tomorrow. 25 cute little fuzzies for us to cuddle!! I am so excited - but this is my first chick rodeo so I am hoping all turns out happy and well. Got their temporary home ready. 4 foot by 2 foot galvanized "water tank" adapted for them. Pine shavings done. Brooder from McMurry turned on and ready. Feed and the gro gel and quick chick all ready to make for tomorrow. Just need them!! We were originally planning for spring chickens but a "nativity" gone wrong and my aunt rerouted them to my house. Don't ask - long story! But I am so excited. Don't know what I am getting!!!

So glad to be here and any input is welcome!

Second... when you get little babies you have to take pictures and post them here or we won't be able to tell you what you've got.

Spend some time in the raising chicks section... there is lots of useful information there.

Chickens are addicting... I had a friend stop by the house tonight and said that when he heard we had chickens in our back yard that he had talked his wife into getting some.

Good Luck... They are a lot of work at first, but lots of fun at the same time.

Hi and a very warm welcome to you from across the Pond! I am sure you will become more and more addicted just like the rest of us. If you have any questions no matter how small just ask. We will look forward to hearing how you are getting on with your "babies"...good luck and happy chicken keeping....
