Yes, this is the first time I've owned a pond. In the spirit of full disclosure, I didn't build this pond. It was already here when we purchased the house. So, the credit for it has to go to the previous owners. All we've really done since moving-in was add:
- Some aquatic plants, for functional aesthetics.
- A few smaller fish, to accentuate the Koi.
- A few tadpoles, to add some charm.

I added these bullfrog tadpoles in hopes of them sticking around long-term... So, I hope they don't leave. Figured there was a chance they'd get eaten (by the Koi), but they're well-camouflaged creatures with lots of hiding spots in the pond. I spotted one of them as recently as last week and it appeared to have grown rear legs... So, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they make it to adults.
