I have already asked a few questions but I wanted to introduce myself. I live in East TN. I am a married mother of 2 children a 14 year old girls and a 10 year old son. We have 2 dogs, a 5yo Boxer named Isis, a 1 year old Boxador named Phoenix, 2 6 month old Billy goats, Steve Toggenburg cross & Rex Pygmy. 4 cats, JackJack, Mongo, Squirrel & Snow.

10 chickens total, 5 2 month old chicks 3 Barred Rock & 2 Buff all girls & 5 16 month old laying hens 4 Black Sex Links & 1 Rode Island Red. We have had the hens for about 2 months now and the chicks for a month.

We love our animals any kind really.

I can already credit this forum with possible saving my chicks when they came down with coccidia and I look forward to learning from you all even more with my chicken ladies.

Lovely intro, thank you. You certainly love variety

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! What a fabulous mix of animals you have there. I'm sure they all keep you very busy indeed. Lovely to hear BYC helped you with your chicks and that they are now well again.

Wishing you the very best of luck on the future. Enjoy BYC and all the chicken chat :frow

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. Raising chickens is a wonderful experience for children. Our children and granddaughter (pictured in my avatar) loved our chickens and made lap pets of the calmer and more gentle breeds. You have a nice mixed flock. Black Sex Links are my favorites as they are very friendly and hardy, egg laying machines. I've raised them for years and they have been my best layers, consistently churning out more than 300 large, brown eggs per hen per year. You should get loads of eggs from those four girls.) Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.
