Hi everyone.
I'm new to chickens, and just picked up 5 earlier this week. I live out on some land, have a 40' x 40' garden for the birds to run around in, and made my own coop last weekend.
I'm hoping to get plenty of eggs come spring, and around fall of next year, raise a new back of chicks to replace the old. If it all works out, I hope to rotate my chickens every year.
The 5 are: 3 white leghorn hens, 1 rhode island red hen, and a rooster of unknown breed.
Looking forward to learning and contributing to this community!
