Hi! I am very new to chickens. My husband has had them in the past but this year is my first chicken experience! We just got 25 day old chicks as a pullet assortment from our local hatchery (Townline) two and a half weeks ago. I'm still trying to figure out what breeds we have... which is how I found BYC! I've been googling trying to figure out what breeds we have. I was really hoping for some easter eggers, but it doesn't look like we have any. The hatchery didn't have a huge list of breeds, so we have narrowed our options down to these: our yellow chicks could be either Amber Sex Link or California Grey Leghorn; our striped chicks could be either Golden or Silver Laced Wyandottes (or maybe easter eggers, but I can't seem to find anything to help me figure that one out); and our black chicks are either Jersey Giants or Australorps (small chance that there could be a couple Black Sex Links but it doesn't seem likely).

Hello and welcome to BYC

Your chicks are beautiful, love the pics! What you can do is post pics of them here:

But identifying the breeds will be easier once they are fully feathered, so if you can hang on for a few more weeks...

! Great to have you with us! Happy you entered the wonderful world of chicken keeping! I agree with Sumi - wait a bit and post some pics - they are a little young to be definitive on the guesses - good luck to you!

Thanks everyone! I'm so excited about how helpful everyone is here!
