After years of looking for a bit of land in the country so I could have chickens, we found out after talking to our village president that there is no law against having chickens and a number of people do. I don't know why we didn't ask before. Anyways after doing my happy dance, we planned where our coup is going to be and bought supplies. I found week old female white and I believe brown leghorns at a local feed store. So I picked up one of each and named them Jack and Lola. The end of June the feed store is getting Ameraucanas and I want to get two of those. My plan is 4 chickens this year and then add two more next year.
