New from Woodhaven, MI - attorney takes plunge into raising chickens!

I am new to this forum - witness my first post! I live in Woodhaven and have decided that I wanted to start moving towards some form of self-sufficiency. I have a very good size back yard and want to start doing some gardening and providing some sort of eggs and meat by raising chickens. I happened across this forum and have gotten a lot of good information to help me as I get prepared.

Also, I know that many of you have had to deal with local zoning ordinance issues and Michigan's Right to Farm Act. Although this would be a new area of law for me, I will likely have a go-round myself with the local city attorney and if anyone needs legal services, I'll be happy to help out.
