New goslings

We just received10 goslings in the mail. I'm basically doing with them what we did with our chickens. We also received 10 ducklings... in case anyone is on both boards. I'm wondering what to do with the goslings. Are there any good books on waterfowl?

Congratulations on your new geese and ducklings, The Book of Geese by Dave Holderread is excellent, and also Storey's Guide to Raising Ducks by Dave Holderread is another excellent one. It's kinda like the Bible for those of us who are serious about raising our birds right, all the best to ya.

They don't stay on the high protein starter as long as chicks and they love greens from the start.

I was given two buff goslings that are three weeks old today and they are just the sweetest little ones. i am keeping them in the sun porch in theior own private dog play pen for a few days until they get adjusted and have some time to rest before i move them for short trips outside to hang with the three month old pekin ducks. they were upset when the big mamma left them alone but cuddled right up to the stuffed toy i left out for them. Good thing i go back to work later this week from my two weeks vacation, otherwise i'd be playing chick/gosling hooky from work!! LOL
