New GQF Hatcher - Trays too Short for Egg Cartons?

Hey guys! I have always always always hatched in egg cartons. I just personally find it the best way to do it, the eggs don't get bumped around and it seems to give me good hatch rates. I just bought a new GQF Hatcher. I had one of the old ones years ago but these ones have much shorter trays.

I'm worried that the trays are so short the chicks are going to have trouble getting out of the eggs while in the egg cartons. I'm wondering if I should take them out of the egg cartons completely? I have some on their side and then others in the egg carton So I guess it's kind of an experiment.

You could leave them in them until lockdown (3-4 days prior to hatch date) and then lay them on their sides. Do you hand turn them or do they rock in the one you've got?
