New guy with a ?

I have had the same chickens for the last 4 yrs . This year we dicided to add a few new ones. I am sure this has been asked but I can't find it. How do you add new chicks to the coop? The old hens are one barred rock and one Araucana.

We waited until the newer ones were about the same size and put them in the coop at night. They were pecked for a few days but it is calming down. They were also in a small movable chicken coop right next to the big house for a long time so it wasn't a giant surprise when the new birds entered the flock.
