Hi all. Name is jeremy and I live in goldendale washington. we have about 10 chickens, 2 turkeys, 8 ducks, & 4 geese. my wife mainly takes care of the chickens and i just eat the eggs. she has now asked me to get more involved and wants me to build new coops and a floating duck house. I am not a handy person so i thought ide come here for advice and questions. thanks everyone and glad to be here.

Thanks for the mention @Shadrach. Yes, Jeremy, if I can do it, so can your wife... and you for that matter. I do have the decided advantage of a garage full of all kinds of fun tools left over from flipping houses. But if you have friends and they teach you how to use their power tools without removing any of your own appendages, maybe they would let you borrow them and might even help you as well!

I built my first coop from scratch but it just wasn't working for me. So I converted my cruddy old shed into my new coop with a larger walk-in style run attached. I am much happier with this arrangement. Consider doing a shed conversion. Look around for someone getting rid of an old shed. Half the work is already done for you that way!
