I have a duckling who will not use one leg. It was an assisted hatch who was a little early. Left it in its shell for about 24 hrs to finish absorbing yolk. It finally hatched at 3am. It is now noon and I have noticed it is kicking with only one leg and is not able to get up. It has tons of energy and keeps trying to get up but one leg is either pulled into its body or stretched out entirely. It doesn't appear to be a tendon issue.
What can i do to help it? Is it likely that it will never walk?

Welcome to our community.

Sorry to hear about your duckling.

Does the leg bend at the joints properly, and look to function as normal? Could you post a video of the duckling trying to use the leg? You'll need to upload it to a video platform like Youtube or vimeo, and then copy/paste the link here.

Thank you!
I actually spent a few hrs with it wrapped in a towel & heat pack, legs tucked under it and when it would wake up id therapy the leg. Pulling it out gently, holding the duckling up which forced it to push legs down, id have it push back on my finger with bad leg. After 3 hrs or so it started using it and has been running around just fine now! Its actually turned into the bully of the bunch. haha

I appreciate the response and offer to help!! :)
