I’m Caroline and have had my chicks for about 2 weeks now. I live in North Carolina and work in medicine. This year I have begun a small garden and have now acquired chickens in the hopes of having food in my back yard! I have 6 hens (hopefully only hens) and am currently enjoying watching them grow in a brooder I made from a Rubbermaid tub. I’m using a heating pad for warmth as I’m not a fan of the heat lamps. All is well thus far and I’m looking forward to moving them into their coop soon. I found BYC during my endless google searches regarding back yard chickening. Nice to meet y’all! Thanks for all your helpful forums.
