Sat we brought home 3 1 year old hens to our coop. They are our first chickens. Anyway, we kept them in there for a day to get them used to it, but when we try to get them outside, they protest. We can't seem to catch them to put them out there. Is there anyway we can bribe them to go outside? They have a nice big yard to run and play and lots of bugs to eat...so personlly I don't see the problem

My 13 year old son is worried and a bit miffed because he was so looking forward to eggs every morning..he can easily put down 4 for breakfast:rolleyes:

Any suggestins

Thanks.. we are going to build a covered run for them so that they can free range a bit while we are gone. Hubby is a teacher and I work part time at the school. So we want them safe since we live in hawk country. Hopefully they will start venturing out.
