In the Brooder
Thanks for having me! We've been busy the last few years, we started with 6 pullets, and at times have had as many as 80+ since! My wife and I work together around our property and have done a fair bit of gardening before diving into chicken life, but enjoy it immensely! We've had a lot of barnyard mixes, but have been selectively adding to the flock with a rotation of roosters to get a beautiful olive green egg color that we incubated this past spring...we'll be looking for this batch or the generation after to be natural olive green egg layers
We also have 5 dogs (two pure pyrs, one pyr/heeler mix, one border collie mutt, one pocket bully/pit mix), 4 cats, and kids!!
We're joining online here in anticipation of being able to buy/sell/trade our natural olive green egg layers, but also to connect with other homesteaders for other things in that might be of interest like livestock guardians. I'll find the right forum to post officially later but our two pure great pyrenees had a litter on June 18th - we'd left them unspayed/fixed intentionally to keep a couple and carry on their line and find good homes for the others -- but we were VERY blessed with an unexpected 14 puppies!!!
PM me for more information - we love them very much and want them to go to good homes where they can continue to thrive and fulfill their natural disposition to work and protect. They are lovely and adorable, but they need to be more than just pets. Mom and Dad pyr live here full time with the puppies and chickens, puppies have been raised indoors with the mom so far.
