I've been lurking for months and finally decided to start posting! This forum has been SO helpful to me. It helped me make the decision to finally actually get some chicks, and taught me everything I needed to know to start off right. I have been obsessively looking at coop designs which have also been insanely helpful. Thanks to the whole community for keeping this website up and going and so educational.
I am completely new to all of this and my little flock of 5 is (hopefully) all pullets. They are just coming up on 6 weeks old and seem to be coming out of the ugly stage. I have: 2 Golden Comets (Frankie and Fay), 1 Speckeled Sussex (Oleta), 1 Golden Laced Wyandotte (Ophira), and 1 EE (Ostara) -or possibly actually Ameraucana? I will have to post a pic and find out.
I am also the proud mommy of an 11 month old boy, a slew of German Shepherd Dogs (imported working lines, they do Schutzhund), a 20 lb mutt dog, and a cute little cow marked kitty. We breed the GSDs and have a website but I'm not sure if I am allowed to post that? My knowledge of dogs is pretty well above average so I'd be happy to try to help with any questions about dogs that comeup and need answering.
(We are RESPONSIBLE dog owners... they don't run loose or make a racket, etc.)
