I'm so excited about having a few chickens since I live on residential property. The laws have changed here in Fl and they allow 6 hens on residential, no roosters. I don't really know what type of chickens I have because they were free from the citrus county fair. I have 1 black and white and 1 red. They are about 4 to 5 weeks old and very clever. I recently had a coop built because they started flying on the top edge of the box at about 2 or 2 1/2 weeks. I surely didn't want to come home one day and poop be everywhere since they are in the house. I am not raising them to eat. I just want fresh eggs and it gives my 4 year old son something to do. I'm glad to be here and hopefully I can learn what I need to know to raise healthy chickens.

! Great to have you with us! Hope your chicks all turn out to be hens. If you wish you can post some pics in the link below - maybe some folks can give you an idea on the breeds you have and their genders. Good luck to you!!\
