New Here and to chickens

Hi,
I just joined because we have recently started our flock of chickens. The first time we got chicks all of them died within 3 days. That was back in February. Just got a new batch and we have 11 2 week old Black Australorp chicks. We live in a small city so, they'll be a backyard flock, for eggs and manure (for the garden)

The rest of the family consists of me, my husband and two beautiful daughters and a senior cat.
