I've posted a few times but am quite new here.

Back in April, hubby and I purchased three Barred Rock chicks who were a couple weeks old and a week later, picked up the four Mille Fleur D'Uccle chicks we'd ordered who were just days old from our feed store to start a small flock of egg layers.

We're enjoying the heck out of our small flock. Two of the Mille's died within days of purchase so one was replaced with another Mille and I also picked up a Red Cochin hen. Two of the three Mille's turned out to be 'roo's but out of the 7 total birds we have, 5 are hens.

This month the big girls started laying so we're at 2 eggs a day usually. Still waiting on the other BR hen to start laying and I can't wait to see what the two Bantam hens eggs will look like.

I love this website and enjoy reading everyone's stories/experiences.

I am a chicken addict
