Hello everybody i am new to this site and new to chickens. I live in Lake Arthur Louisiana and recently bought an incubator and eggs built a pen whole 9 yards. I got a few chickens because there is nothing better than fresh eggs, but during the process ive come to enjoy the incubation process love to the whole thing about it. I had a blas candling and watching them hatch. My question is, is it fesable to buy fertile eggs then hatch them and sell the chicks not looking to really make money but dont want to lose money buying eggs then giving away chicks. I cant have 100 chcikens in my yard lol

It's mostly about supply and demand. Beginning in late Feb to early March, start incubating pure bred chicks and rare breeds and others that seem popular in your area. Be wary ordering shipped eggs as you have no idea what the conditions are and shipped eggs can be pricey and are not insured by the post office. Chicken breeds can be a bit "trendy". I also love to hatch and will often advertise locally and offer my "hatching services" at no charge if the respondent supplies their own eggs. You may want to request a deposit so no one leaves you stranded with chicks you didn't want. Some of the tried and true breeds will fare well to find buyers. Dominique, buff Orpingtons, Rhode Island Reds, Leghorns, White Rocks, etc. This year it seemed Silkies and Guineas were in high demand here in NC. Once you master chickens, try ducks or geese, turkeys, guineas, or pheasant. I've never had trouble selling those.

thanks alot there is a sale barn not to far from me with auctions every thursday but you never know what price yo will get then you pay them a percentage probably try to do it on my own first
