Our family added chickens and guinea fowl to our home about 10 months ago. We started out just wanting to get guinea fowl for tick clean up, and planned to get a couple chickens to keep the guineas from wandering too far. We fell in love with them both. Chicken math is a real thing and we went from planning on 4, to starting with 6, and now I've just lost count. We have a couple of roosters, 14 laying hens, and a ton of chicks that we plan on adding to our flock once they've grown out a bit more. We have 7 adult guinea fowl and have a handful in the brooder as well as in an incubator. Over the last couple of weeks we have also added turkeys. We are learning as we go.
We are new to living on a large property and animals. We have 6 kids, but two have flown the coop already. We are enjoying "country life". I homeschool my youngest three kids and my husband works from home. The animals have been such a gift to our family. I love the family going out and working together and the kids learning to care for them.

I found this group while searching for antibiotic dosing a few months ago and again tonight when I was looking to find a chart that would tell me what color my guinea fowl would be based on what they looked like as keets. I look forward to learning from you all and hopefully being able to contribute as well.

Shelly
