My name is Alessandra, I am new to the chicken world and thought I’d join this community to learn more about raising chickens! Looking forward to it!
1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I got 4 Easter eggers and 3 silkies as chicks, 5 weeks ago (it’s their first night in the coop..I’m nervous!)

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Being a little more sustainable, learning a new hobby, pest control.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Spending time with family and my dog & school work.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your
occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have a pup named Murphy, he’s getting used to the chicks but coming along well.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Google, this site has already helped me so much. And I joined because I’m having trouble sexing my chicks and am looking for help!

Hi! Welcome! We're happy to have you and happy to help. Sexing chickens is easy! If it crows it's a rooster (usually). If it lays eggs it's a hen (always!). 
Sorry, don't mind me, I labor under the delusion that I'm funny. Truly smart people will help you sex your chickies!
