Hello everyone,
This is my second flock of chickens. My first I had 30 and had to sell due to sickness during COVID. This time I have 12.
I have a couple sexlinks one of which I am sure is a roo, I have a couple speckled Sussex, 3 Plymouth barred rocks, 3 wheaten americaunas 1 brown americauna and one lone survivor buff Orpington (there was 3 but we lost 2 a few days after hatching).
Our family loves our chickens because very young we start to socialize them so as they get bigger, they just become a part of us. When we are outside, they are right by our sides always.
I always tell people that chickens have such great personalities and they never believe me until they come to our house and see our chickens and then they’re like wow, you are right.
I am a crocheter and a gardener as well. I am a stay at home mom of five kids, and I also have two grandkids.
Google helped me find BYC and I’m so excited to get connected and meet other people who love chickens as much as I do.
The Roo in the picture is from my first flock. He’s a buff Orpington and he was my baby. I’d be able to sit down outside and pat on my lap and he would just jump in my lap and sit down for pets.
