I'm new to this site but not new to chickens. I've had chickens most of my life. I grew up on a farm and have raised chickens, cattle, horses, goats, dogs, cats, birds, snakes, tortises and I rescue what ever I have room for and always looking for homes for dogs. We live in the country on 10 acres and as I'm sure alot of you are aware, dogs get dumped all the time.
I also volunteer at a wildlife rescue and sanctuary. I have two grown children who also volunteer there as well. They kinda grew up there. My kids will bring me things that need rescue as well as my husband. I'm a firm believer in Spaying and Neutering all animals.
Our latest rescue was an abandoned rat terrier my daughter and her boyfriend found on Mother's Day. She is an awesome little girl. She only weighed 5lbs!!! Totally skin and bones. She now weighs 13lbs and is ready for a new home.
I also work full time, have been married for 26 years and have Multiple Sclerosis.
I'm pretty busy and am looking for ideas on raising geese and call ducks. Sorry so lengthy.
