Hello beautiful chicken people,
Just getting started at backyard chickens and hope to spend time learning more about chickens.. I've had chickens for several years but hope to raise new breeds I haven't already raised.. I currently have- black astralup,golden comits, bb red bantams, mix breed of bantams, & quineas... I hope to get my hands on some silkie eggs. Love raising chicks..

I too love incubating and raising chicks, it's lots of fun and very rewarding. I've got 27 polish eggs in the incubator on day 9 and I can't wait for hatch day!!

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided join our flock. You have a nice mix of breeds. Black Australorps are my favorite standard breed. I've raised them for years (along with dozens of other breeds), and they are extremely hardy, calm and gentle (my children and granddaughter) made lap pets of them, and excellent layers of large brown eggs. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck in getting and hatching your Silkie eggs.
