Hi, My name is Naomi and we are in northern Arkansas. I have collected chicken eggs and cleaned chicken houses when staying on farms as a girl but that was in the last century. My husband has bees and we thought that chickens would be a nice addition plus I have always wanted some. So I researched breeds and purchased Orpingtons and Australorps based on their dual purpose and characteristics. I have cared for fighting chickens and wanted the exact opposite. No fun going to feed and having to beat off the attack. At 8 weeks of age, they are out in our chicken tractor and piling in the corner for the night. I am so relieved after reading reviews to find this normal and they will get it together someday. I think when it warms more they will be more willing to separate. Look to read more information here soon.
